EPE publishes the "Report on Energy Demand of Light-Duty Vehicle"

The Report on Energy Demand of Light-Duty Vehicle, prepared by the Biofuels Area of the Directorate of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels of the Energy Research Office, aims to present scenarios of Otto cycle demand up to the 2030 horizon, in order to contribute to the threats and opportunities identification on the national fuels supply.

The present study considers different licensing trajectories, depending on the economic scenario and technological advances, such as the hybrid and electric vehicles penetration. The fuels participation (gasoline A-type, anhydrous and hydrous ethanol) in the supply of vehicles is obtained based on the etanol internal supply, the gasoline C-type domestic price, the light-duty vehicles fleet profile and the vehicle efficiency evolution.
